Yes I also found out accidentally that a whole bunch of Facebook friends are following me and apparently Scribd auto-followed me to them too!!! What a bogus move by scribd!!

Not sure about the atheist/ hitchhiker link but sometimes i think it could have been a prediction (more than 1984 ever was). Is the world turning into one full of telephone sanitizers?

Well from my research the AR advertising market is still underdeveloped/wide open.

Imagine walking around talking pictures and as your camera sweeps over Costa Coffee it comes up with an offer.

Or you get a “just around the corner we are having a sale” ad.

I pretty much agree with “cornering the market”. But then again, somebody has to explain WHICH market? Is there an easy way to describe it?
There are already platforms for 1) augmented reality 2) photo 3) location 4) location deals, so what am I missing?

the only phenomenon sweeping the tech scene is the fact that someone put 41m at risk for dumb (yeah, i personally think its dumb) iphone only app.

the app has terrible ratings and nobody besides techcrunch and mashable readers know about it.

there is now awesome app, there is no awesome PR.

ita just a lot of money wasted.

There has been some movement lately toward a “OperatingSystem2.0″. Wayland replacing X, new versioning file systems with tagging and meta data, systemd/launchd/UpStart/I can’t even keep track any more, the free desktop standard, using a linux kernel in bsd, a bsd kernel in linux etc. But yes, these are all improvements/replacements for components of unix/linux, not operating system replacements.
