I am running a short survey on user choice – I wish to keep it as vague as that for now so as not to colour the results.

Some people have mentioned it looks slightly like a phishing attack. Just to set minds at rest here is a short privacy brief:

• Email addresses are not linked to IP address, and are totally optional
• Passwords ARE stored in plain text. Your encouraged to make a new one for this purpose
• IP addesses are stored only to prevent you taking the survey more than once – they will be deleted when the survey is closed

If your not happy – dont take the survey simple as.
